If you saw our announcement in January, you know that we restructured our Municipal Engineering Division into three distinct groups: Water Quality, Municipal Facilities & Utilities, and Private Land Development & Surveying. Today we’re focusing on what our water quality team can bring to your community.
Guided by Experience, Powered by Teamwork
Our water quality group is led by the brilliant and humble Kirstin DiPietro Worden, PE. With 30 years of experience in environmental engineering, Kirstin is our company’s lead technical wastewater engineer. She brings deep expertise in wastewater treatment facility, pump station, and sanitary collection system planning, final design, and construction-phase engineering services. Her background also includes extensive work in stormwater management, from designing advanced stormwater treatment practices to developing flow restoration plans. She has played a key role in integrated water quality planning projects, providing strategic guidance to improve environmental outcomes. Kirstin’s ability to navigate complex regulatory landscapes and deliver innovative engineering solutions makes her a trusted expert in the field.
A few key team members include:
John Reilly, PE – who focuses on collection and conveyance systems, decentralized wastewater processes, solids management, and project funding sources.
Patrick McLee, PhD, PE – who focuses on plant operations, headworks, aeration, and clarification process design.
Aidan Short, PE – who focuses on hydrology and hydraulics for pumped systems, as well as climate resiliency and flood protection modeling, particularly for wastewater treatment projects.
Dave Edson, PE – who focuses on drinking water treatment, distribution, and storage, along with water supply and wellfield development.
Thomas Bryce, CPESC, CESSWI – who focuses on stormwater collection, conveyance, and treatment design as well as modeling, planning, permitting and compliance.
Paul Hobbs, PE – who provides structural engineering support to the team on projects needing tanks, buildings, and buried structures as well as developing models for coordination with building trades.
Laura Clements, PE, LEED AP – who provides construction management support to the water quality team on drinking water and wastewater facility implementation projects.
Group Focus
All of our team members in this group focus on enhancing water quality to be stewards of our natural environment, as well as assisting our clients with applying for grants and low interest loan funding for our client’s water quality projects to maximize project value.
Our project types include:
- Wastewater treatment facility upgrades
- Decentralized wastewater treatment and disposal
- Climate resilience and flood risk mitigation
- Drinking water treatment, distribution and storage
- Stormwater treatment and enhancements
- Process optimization at WWTF and WTFs
- Assistance with state and federal funding applications
- Public outreach to inform the community of the importance of supporting projects
Let us Help!
Clean water is essential to our environment and to a high quality of life. Increasingly complex contaminants and regulations strain the resources of our clients. Kirstin and her team understand the latest water quality rules and regulations, the technical challenges of dealing with emerging contaminants, and the funding opportunities to support capital improvements for public infrastructure projects. Want to work with Kirstin’s team? Reach out to her to get your community the support it needs!
