We are pleased to welcome Matthew Elia, CM, to Hoyle Tanner as a Senior Airport Planner in our Airport Services Division!
Matt brings more than a decade of hands-on airport management and planning experience to his new role. Most recently, he served as Assistant Airport Manager at Cape Cod Gateway Airport, where he oversaw operations, facilities, and regulatory compliance. His prior experience includes managing Florida’s Tavares Seaplane Base and working on major runway reconstruction efforts in New Bedford, Massachusetts.
Matt is a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives and a licensed commercial pilot and flight instructor. He brings hands-on knowledge of airfield operations, safety protocols, and pilot needs – critical for planning practical, user-centric airport facilities.
Beyond his technical expertise, Matt has demonstrated leadership in the aviation industry, serving two terms as President of the Massachusetts Airport Management Association. Matt’s background brings a unique and valuable combination of technical, operational, and leadership expertise to our team. He will help Hoyle Tanner navigate complex regulatory standards, align project goals with client needs, and identify emerging trends in airport development.
Matt’s rare blend of leadership, technical know-how, and industry influence will strengthen our airport planning practice both internally and externally.
