Mill Girl Stair Improvements
Mill Girl Stair Improvements
Hoyle Tanner provided civil and structural engineering design services for the Mill Girl Stair Improvements project located in downtown Manchester’s historic millyard. Building off of concepts developed by Manchester Connects, Hoyle Tanner helped the City of Manchester realize their vision by turning the deteriorating stairs on Commercial Street into an accessible landmark that features the iconic Mill Girl statue. The project included construction of a new reinforced ADA accessible ramp structure with granite stairs, seating, color changing LED lighting, and placemaking spaces for small events and vendors.
The project team successfully navigated the challenges of working on a small urban site with congested utilities from design through construction.
