Hoyle Tanner Welcomes Three Senior Engineers
We’re excited to announce the addition of several team members to various disciplines in our firm – adding further expertise in our Burlington, Vermont office. Please help us welcome the following professionals.
Paul Hobbs, PE
Paul is a highly experienced, detail-oriented structural engineer with a passion for progress, innovation and efficiency. His accomplishments include a wide variety of projects including wastewater treatment facilities, historic preservation, and industrial projects. Paul excels at effectively collaborating with clients, resource agencies, and the multitude of disciplines involved in complex projects. His work has included design for industrial projects from simple load ratings to multi-million-dollar welded rotor facilities; repair and reinforcements of electric transformer vaults; and environmental structures across Vermont and New Hampshire. Paul brings his 33 years of experience to our growing Municipal Engineering Services Division!
Kelly (Barry) LaVigne, PE
Kelly is a bridge engineer with over a decade of professional experience specializing in the development and design of transportation infrastructure projects throughout Vermont and New England using traditional and alternative delivery methods. She is known for being a skilled communicator with strong project management and organizational skills who excels in managing and mentoring staff to form effective and cohesive teams.
Kelly is adept with design codes such as AASHTO LRFD, AREMA, and AISC and is extremely knowledgeable of VTrans Construction Standards and processes (having supported dozens of VTrans projects large and small). She was recognized by her peers by being selected as Young Engineer of the Year in Vermont in 2022. Kelly joins our Ground Transportation Division!
Briana Cronin, PE
Briana brings a wealth of expertise encompassing roadway, bicycle, and pedestrian infrastructure, as well as bridge projects. With her extensive background, she possesses invaluable experience in successfully executing projects of varying scales while adhering to the rigorous standards set by state and federal project development processes. Notably, Briana’s exceptional skill set extends to efficiently navigating the landscape of permitting for intricate linear transportation projects. Briana joins Kelly in our Ground Transportation Division, bringing her 16 years of experience to work on transportation projects in New England!

Catie is the Marketing Manager at Hoyle Tanner. She works with project managers to create beautifully-designed marketing materials for aviation, bridge, roadway, and utility engineering. She is known for her communication skills and love of editing. An introvert at heart and a natural bibliophile, Catie spends her free time transfixed in novels, finding solace in the mountains, and playing with her dog.
