Meet our Surveyors!
In 1993, Tim Bernier, LLS, PLS, CWS started his own land surveying firm, TF Bernier, Inc., operating out of Concord, New Hampshire. In 2024, Tim sold his company to Hoyle Tanner, and he and his team have added a new service to Hoyle Tanner’s offerings: Survey. Tim is both a licensed Land Surveyor and Certified Wetland Scientist in New Hampshire and is a Professional Land Surveyor in Massachusetts. He is known for his dedication to his clients and his commitment to excellence.
Jonathan Crowdes, LLS, CPESC, CESSWI joined us in March when our firm acquired TF Bernier. Jonathan is a Survey Project Manager with expertise in New England. | Read his Employee Spotlight!
Tyler Heinrich is our expert Survey Technician, having followed the TF Bernier train to Hoyle Tanner. Tyler is known for his attention to detail and his commitment to client projects. We are so excited to continue working with him!
Welcome our Engineers!
Megan Ooms, PE has experience leading bridge teams, large and small. In her role as a senior structural Engineer, she manages the technical aspects of structural engineering projects including bridge and culvert design calculations, plan development and estimate development. Megan’s vast experience in bridge rehabilitation and design as well as culvert design, makes her an asset to any team. We are thrilled to have her join our Burlington office.
Jenae Carraway, PE did her studies in Chemistry and Biological Engineering but has since made the switch to a Senior Transportation Engineer! She works on state and municipal projects across New England, and we are lucky to have her in our Yarmouth office since joining our firm in January.
Gail M. Carter, PE just joined us as an Airport Engineer! She’ll be working with our robust team of airport design professionals out of our Oviedo office, bringing with her years of business, civil/site, and aviation experience. Gail has a passion for sustainability and global impact, and we look forward to the knowledge and insight she has to share.
Michael Dyer is beginning his professional career with us as an Airport Engineer! After graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2024, he’s now working out of our Portsmouth office and getting involved in our exciting airport design work.
Emily Doty, EI has been involved as a field and office design technician/inspector and designer on a variety of civil engineering, traffic engineering, and construction inspection projects. After graduating from the University of Maine in 2018, she continues her professional career in our Yarmouth office!
Lily Mott, EIT has joined our Municipal Engineering Services Division in our Burlington office! Lily has several years of experience in solar layout, access road, and stormwater design. She has worked on the design and permitting process of proposed solar sites in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Massachusetts.
Stephen Hansen is a structural engineer starting his career with us after graduating from Roger Williams University in 2024. Stephen has experience with AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and HEC-RAS for hydraulic modeling. He takes his fresh perspective and applies his critical thinking with AASHTO bridge design to deliver innovative, successful projects to clients. He joins our Chelmsford office.
Andrew Merenda also begins his structural engineering career with us after graduating from the University of New Hampshire in 2024. He will use his fresh perspective on municipal and state projects in our Ground Transportation Division where he works out of our headquarters in Manchester.
Maggie Paratore joined our team in June after graduating from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2024. Maggie has developed a passion for understanding the many ways that we can improve the built environment. This was strengthened during her senior project in college, which addressed the importance of a safe experience for all road users, in addition to traffic safety and long-term sustainability. Maggie looks forward to bringing her new insights to deliver approachable, detail-oriented solutions to clients. She’ll work alongside our professionals in Chelmsford.
Say Hello to our Designers & Environmental Scientists!
Shawn Allard is our newest Senior CADD Designer with over 30 years of professional experience on his resume. He has extensive experience in all phases of the CADD design process from initial concept phase through to final construction plans. We are excited to have him in our Yarmouth office!
Connor Boynton is taking a technical track by starting his CADD Designer career with us at Hoyle Tanner. After graduating with a degree in psychology and working as a fitness professional, Connor developed an interest in CADD! He will add a unique perspective in our Yarmouth office.
Melinda Squillace, CWB is a Senior Environmental Scientist and professionally Certified Wildlife Biologist with almost 15 years of experience in the field. Prior to joining Hoyle Tanner and becoming a professional consultant, she spent many years working as a State Agency Wildlife Biologist managing numerous wildlife species across the country. She adds to our growing Burlington office!
Karen Allen has 11 exceptional years of experience in administrative roles. She joins us as a Senior Project Assistant in our Ground Transportation Division working with project teams to deliver bridge and highway transportation studies, designs, and construction-phase services for state and municipal clients throughout the Northeast. She is quickly becoming a staple of our Portsmouth office!
