Bartlett Bay Wastewater Treatment Facility Final Design
Project Summary
Hoyle Tanner is supporting the Bartlett Bay WWTF in its mission to provide reliable and efficient wastewater treatment services. Following the completion of a comprehensive Preliminary Engineering Report, it was determined that aging equipment and infrastructure at the facility required significant refurbishment to meet current and future operational demands.
The refurbishment includes extensive upgrades such as modernizing preliminary treatment processes, enhancing biological treatment through an upgrade from an A/O process to an A2O process, construction of a third secondary clarifier, expanding the hydraulic capacity of tertiary filtration, implementing new inclined UV disinfection technology, and constructing new facilities to improve operations and biosolids management. Bartlett Bay WWTF will be the first facility in the Northeast to implement real-time digital optimization which provides data analytics, optimization, and predictive systems through real-time modeling of wastewater treatment. These improvements comprehensively address both current operational challenges and future growth to meet permit requirements.
These changes will significantly enhance the facility’s efficiency, reliability, and capacity to meet environmental standards, ensuring sustainable wastewater treatment for the Bartlett Bay community. Hoyle Tanner’s expertise and innovative solutions have been instrumental in transforming the WWTF into a modern, resilient facility prepared to serve for decades to come.
