We are excited to announce that Construction Project Manager Laura Clements PE, LEED®AP was voted as Recording Secretary for the (newly established!) Vermont Chapter of the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC). NAWIC originated when sixteen women working in the construction industry in 1953 wanted to “create a support network for women working in a male-dominated field.” Today, the organization has over 115 chapters throughout the United States. NAWIC provides its members with opportunities for professional development, education, networking, leadership training, public service and more.
Laura is a seasoned professional with an extensive background in heavy/civil infrastructure and institutional building construction. Having overseen the delivery of over 50 Design-Bid-Build and construction management projects in the northeast, Laura stands as a proven leader in the field. Laura places a strong emphasis on effective cost and schedule management. She not only excels in construction management but also actively collaborates with clients and the design team, fostering successful communication and ensuring prosperous project outcomes. Laura is excited to support and mentor Vermont women through the NAWIC Vermont Chapter, in hopes that more women enjoy a career in construction as much as she does. She hopes to inspire a new generation of women to explore and embrace the countless opportunities that construction has to offer.
Please join us in congratulating her on this achievement.
