Rehabilitate Taxiway E, F & a Portion of W
Hoyle Tanner provided the design, environmental, construction administration and resident engineering services for the rehabilitation of portions of Bradley International Airport’s taxiway system. The project’s intent was to improve the safety and operational reliability of the airport by rehabilitating Rehabilitate Taxiway E, F & a Portion of W. The system improvements also included realigning Taxiway F to comply with new FAA taxiway geometry design standards. This realignment including remarking for Surface Movement Guidance and Control System (SMGCS) standard. A new vehicle access road was designed and constructed to provide for efficient and safe movement of maintenance and auxiliary vehicles around the end of Taxiway G. In accordance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), the Bradley International Airport (BDL) requested and was granted a Categorical Exclusion (CatEx) Determination from the FAA.
