I-95 over the Piscataqua River Fracture Critical Member Inspection

Project Summary
To meet National Bridge Inspection Standard (NBIS) requirements, Hoyle Tanner was retained by the New Hampshire Department of Transportation to perform a Fracture Critical Memberinspection for the above deck portion of the I-95 High Level Bridge. The inspection was completed during a scheduled shutdown of one lane in each direction over a single weekend. Two teams of NBIS and Fracture Critical Certified Inspectors completed the inspection utilizing two-125’ articulated lifts which were required to reach the top of the arch over 100’ above the deck level. All fracture critical members were inspected at arms-length and a detailed inspection report prepared.
