Westville Road Bridge
Project Summary
This project involves the complete replacement of the Westville Road Bridge over the Little River. The existing 14′ span cast-in-place concrete arch with cast-in-place concrete deck, originally constructed in 1940, requires replacement because of the deteriorated condition of the bridge and the need to make significant improvements to the roadway geometry at the crossing. Accelerated bridge construction techniques were investigated to limit impacts to the traveling public and compared against the construction cost and duration of a phased-construction approach. The Town selected the accelerated bridge construction approach with a limited road closure duration.
The proposed replacement structure is a 28’ span precast rigid frame founded on bedrock.
This project is being funded through the NHDOT Municipally Managed State Bridge Aid Program.
