The Burlington International Airport (BIA) contracted Hoyle Tanner to assist with a multi-year repairs/rehabilitation plan for this 6-story 900,000 square foot parking garage. Our team completed a general structural assessment of the parking garage facility and worked with airport staff to prioritize repairs within a five-year that was fiscally responsible considering budgetary limitations.
Repair work has included rehabilitation of the garage wash areas (to mitigate leaking issues),concrete spall repairs, concrete crack repairs, joint sealant replacement, and a waterproofing membrane installation. Hoyle Tanner is also responsible for part-time construction oversight through construction completion.
In addition to this repair project Hoyle Tanner developed a 50-year capital planning tool (excel-based) that can assist the airport with projecting costs for the garage based on predictable preventative maintenance frequencies while accounting for several current high priority projects.
