What drew me to Hoyle Tanner was the people. I have yet to see a work environment that is as committed to growth like Hoyle Tanner.
What’s your favorite part of the company culture?
Company culture is so important to me. The level of communication, friendship, and support of higher learning is inspiring.
What’s a lesson you’ve learned from a colleague?
Never be afraid to ask questions or make a suggestion. We are thinkers, not robots.
What’s one thing you wish people knew about your job?
When I say I’m an aviation engineer to my friends outside of engineering, the most common misconception is that I work on planes which isn’t true.
What’s the best piece of professional advice you’ve ever received?
The most important piece of advice I have ever received from a professional was about being true to yourself when talking to people. First impressions are important.
How do you like to unwind after a busy day at work?
After a busy day at work I will go to the beach and journal. But when it’s cold I just walk along the beach to hear the sounds of the ocean.
What’s the best thing that’s happened to you recently (this week, this month, this year)?
I found out on Christmas that I am a God Mother!!!
What’s a cause or organization you’re passionate about and why?
A personal cause I have been passionate about is the act of giving. During the winter season I buy heat warmers and hand them out to those who may need it. It’s something I try to spread to my friends and family since not a lot of people have the time or money to donate during the holidays. The key is to always keep at least one on your person.
What’s your go-to lunch or lunch spot?
Recently, Pressed has been my go-to lunch spot but I really enjoy the “pollo al chipotle” plate from Herradura Vieja in Chelmsford.
What’s a hobby you have outside of work?
I’m not sure if thrifting qualifies as a hobby, but I do it so much that it might as well be one.
Words to live by? Favorite quote? Why?
Words I live by that I constantly remind myself is “free will.” Sometimes I forget that I don’t always have to follow the grain and am able to choose to do whatever I please. It helps me find beauty in life.
