Meet Angela Roberge – Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist & Grandmother Extraordinaire

What drew you to Hoyle Tanner?

During my interview with the leadership team, I was impressed with their honesty and authenticity. Not an ego was in the room! It is refreshing to work for a company where you have access to management and their openness to ideas.

What’s your favorite part of the company culture?

Our management is “real,” they have families, so they understand the demands of their employees outside of work and do their absolute best to accommodate them – they are flexible. Also, management is all about growing the interested employee to their full potential. It is a very nurturing environment.

What’s one thing you wish people knew about your job?

Recruiting differs from industry to industry. The people are different, their motivators are unique and how you approach them takes finesse. As a recruiter, you need to believe in your product, the company, to be able to sell it to the candidate. Finding the passive civil engineering candidate who is open to discussing their career is like stumbling upon a loose diamond in the sand, on the beach, in the night!

How do you like to unwind after a busy day at work?

Spring, summer and fall are all about golfing. It is the one place where I am a “kid,” not a wife, mother, grandmother, no responsibilities except getting that little white ball into the tiny hole, which is placed at an impossible angle, in under two putts. Winter is about golfing somewhere warm and thinking about spring golfing. PS I am a marginal golfer, but I hit them straight!

What’s the best thing that’s happened to you recently (this week, this month, this year)?

2024 was a wonderful year for our family – our daughter got married, our son and daughter in-law had their third child, and I joined Hoyle Tanner!
