Winooski Municipal Parking Garage
Project Summary
Since 2014, Hoyle Tanner has been the on-call consulting engineer for the City of Winooski’s 900 space municipal parking garage. Built in 2007, the garage is a 7-story steel framed structure with precast double-tee beams servicing both pass holders and daily public parking users. The City has identified early in the service life of this structure the importance of a strong preventative maintenance and repairs program to extend the service life of this important City asset.
Each year, Hoyle Tanner performs a conditions assessment of the garage to review performance and identify repairs and priority preventative maintenance work. We then develop a scope of work that includes a written project description with photos, detail sketches, and a bid form for the City’s on-call contractor to provide pricing for. We perform a bid analysis on behalf of the City and assist with the oversight of construction. This system has proven to be a cost-efficient and highly effective process for managing the parking garage.
In addition to annual services Hoyle Tanner has also developed a comprehensive Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Manual. This manual filled with checklists, procedural guidance, technical information, history of products used, as well as capital planning tools is a highly functional living document that feeds and records the annual maintenance and repairs program.
