NH 101 Corridor Improvements Prioritization Study
Project Summary
Hoyle Tanner was requested under a statewide contract to assist NHDOT in prioritizing future projects along NH Route 101 in several communities.
The Bureau of Highway Design requested Hoyle Tanner compile available information, collect missing data, analyze the data for safety and capacity and rank potential improvements at 18 locations along the corridor.
Hoyle Tanner analyzed both signalized and unsignalized intersections for capacity, performed a safety analysis with review of Crash Modification Factors, identified bicycle and pedestrian infrastructure deficiencies and prepared a matrix to list and compare each location’s potential improvement priority. As priority locations evolved, environmental, Right-of-Way and cost implications were factored into the decision matrix.
Targeted priority locations continue to advance beyond the study phase with the intention of addressing safety issues along a vital east-west corridor that serves as the major arterial roadway located in the southern portion of the state.
